Debt Advisory Manager Opportunity

The Debt Advisory team is an integral part of Dow Schofield Watt’s Financial Advisory practice, providing independent and specialist advice and execution across the full spectrum of debt market products through our network.

Differentiated by having been set up by former senior bankers, the DSW Debt Advisory team is firmly established in the market having advised on a broad range of deals in multiple sectors. The team continues to expand, and we are keen to speak to talented, ambitious individuals either newly qualified or operating at Manager level with relevant financial experience and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Your role will be to assist our clients in achieving their objectives which will incorporate a wide range of debt engagements including advice on debt capital structures, strategic financial solutions, negotiating new money fundraisings, acquisitions, buyouts, re-financings and the restructuring of existing debt facilities.

At Dow Schofield Watts we believe the best way to learn is to engage and experience, and so we empower all our people to engage directly with our clients from day 1 and not as a Partner’s prerogative. We encourage our team to use their initiative to identify solutions and drive transactions forward, and to act as day-to-day lead on our advisory projects. As such, this opportunity requires people with the confidence and skills to have regular interaction with clients, banks, institutional investors, advisors (legal and due diligence) and other service lines (tax, accounting, and due diligence).

In addition, activities will include:

  • Preparation of funder proposal packs, management presentations, financial analysis (strong excel modelling/spreadsheet and PowerPoint skills a prerequisite) and client communications
  • Overseeing the gathering of industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis
  • Marketing and business development activities including driving focus and activity on a consistent and targeted basis

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • A deep understanding of financial statements – whilst an accounting qualification is not necessarily required, the ability to analyse, interpret and then model alternative financial solutions across different transaction types is essential
  • Self-motivation – we do not have a “report in/oversight culture”, but we do have a “what else can I be doing” culture
  • Hunger to learn – as a partner led and culturally transparent firm you will have unrivalled daily access to everything the debt advisory partners do; access and hands on experience will be in abundance with this opportunity.

If you believe this role would give you the challenge you are looking for, and you are interested in working in a truly exciting and empowering environment, we look forward to hearing from you.
