Role Description

This is a remote Contract role for an experienced ABL professional, to become a trusted Asset Based Lending Risk Consultant with Dow Schofield Watts Asset Based Lending Risk Management LLP. The Asset-Based Lending Risk Consultant will be responsible for providing expert due diligence and risk assessment on both new and existing client ABL facilities. This will include assessing complex lending structures, identifying key risk areas, and providing mitigating solutions across all funding levels.


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a client-facing Audit, Survey, or Risk Management role with an Asset Based Lender or a similar bank or professional, financial advisory or commercial finance firm
  • Strong understanding of the application of risk management principles in Asset Based Lending to Receivables, Inventory, Plant & Machinery and Trade Finance facilities
  • Relevant experience with and the ability to accurately assess multiple asset risks in complex lending structures, identify key risk areas and provide mitigating solutions across all funding levels

Desirable Criteria 

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with strong Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills at all levels up to Board level
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage time-critical workflows independently in a remote setting
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to collaborate well both internally and externally
  • Experience in working across SME, mid-market, and corporate clients would be an advantage
  • Understanding and experience of relevant credit structuring and underwriting would be useful
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA would also be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field would also be useful
